This is a close in view of Grosvenor Arch near Cottonwood Canyon in southern Utah. The midday light was a bit on the bright side but with scattered showers in the area I couldn't wait around for anything different. Cottonwood Canyon Road is not someplace you want to be with a 2wd drive rental car in wet weather.

    C&C always welcome.

Nice one Alan. I would not want to be out there in my 4wd rig in heavy rain, I have seen those 12 inch deep tracks.

I think the light and the clouds are perfect Alan. A great lesson that great shots can be taken in the middle of the day in the right conditions.

I have seen a number of people driving down House Rock Rd in 2wd (some rear wheel drive) rental vehicles in 9" deep ruts, white-knuckled, tearing out their undercarriage and been glad I was leaving & not going to be around when they got stuck. Selfish me.
That's a nice shot, Alan. So often it's in really harsh light.

What you see is what you get... I think it looks natural and great.

Good view here Alan. There are only a couple of good views of that arch. Did you come down from Cannonville or up from 89?

Thanks - up from 89. I've been down the road a bit from the north but wanted to see the road coming up from the south on this particular trip.
