Today's Focus on this Friday is Stormy Weather!

So please add your stormy, rainy, snowy clouds to this thread.

I will start off with a rainy sunrise at Bryce.

This is a late summer thunderstorm over Mount Edith Cavell in the Canadian Rockies in Jasper National Park.

Good subject and great images already today. Here is one from Grand View point in Canyonlands.

I don't have to many stormy options as the best ones seem to be on the edge of storms and I always seem to end up in the middle of them. So here's a stormy sky over bowling ball beach.

I am a seriously over the top nut case for watching storms along the coast but shooting the really big ones is a difficult proposition. Serious winds and sideways rain doesn't make for a nice place with a DSLR not inside of an underwater housing. That said I have snapped a few through the years.

Cannon Beach just before a squall rolls in:

    Haystack.jpg

Depoe Bay - this was shot through a hotel window since being outside was not workable shooting conditions at all. Winds were in the 50mph+ range and the picture window I was shooting through was visibly flexing several inches in the gusts.

Finally a shot from the Devil's Punchbowl just north of the Newport area. Not very visible but the Yaquina Head Lighthouse is at the end of the spit in the distance:

I'll bet that cloud unleashed a nasty thunderstorm later in the day.

This is beautiful, Ben. Do you remember what lens you used for this.

I love the perspective of this image, Kyle. Is the ladder that lets you down to the beach fixed yet? When I went there it had been washed out.

I'm there a lot as my parents live nearby. Sometimes the "ladder" goes all the way to the bottom and sometimes it doesn't :)

I've never had any trouble getting down either way. Worst case you can park a little further North and walk down the beach from the other end.
