Last weekend my special friend and I judged the photo contest as part of a West Virginia county spring festival, and then repaired to my house in the mountains. After a drink on the porch watching the fog and rain we followed an impulse to drive up to the high plateau of Dolly Sods and immerse ourselves in the fog. We were stopped in our tracks by this scene of a weathered tree yet to leaf out, and spruce fading into the foggy background. Although it was nearly dark we shot if from several angles. This was my takeaway.

Though Dolly Sods has many moods, this is one that resonates with those who experience it in "bad weather".

Comments and suggestions are always welcome.

I like the symmetry of the tree - works great with the fog and B&W conversion.

Thanks so much Jim, Alan, Douglas and Leslie. Now that I live close to this area I'm looking forward to more cases of such serendipity!

Thanks, Ben and Jim! Jim, I'm glad you like the framing. I think it provides a little better presentation, even for web postings.
