My wife and I are back form a very enjoyable Utah trip. We hit all 5 national parks in the state, and, except for an unexpected tripod failure, things went pretty smoothly. The weather was actually almost too good, with lots of bluebird skies to contend with, but lots of amazing sights and fun hikes. And as the first snow of the year tries to get going outside as I write this, I am already missing the very warm weather we had on the trip.

I will likely be posting a handful of my favorite images form the trip over the next little while. I am starting with this shot, as it represents something a little different for me. This is obviously an image from Upper Antelope Canyon in AZ
, made from a set of images processed using HDR techniques to try to account for the very large dynamic range required in the generally dark interior of the canyon. I fortunately was able to put my tripod head on a different set of tripod legs that were much heavier than my TVC-24 that had broken, but were still stable.

    As always all comments appreciated.

    Hey Mike,

I will be looking forward to your photos from that trip. I am glad that the problem with the tripod didn't slow you up too much.

This is a pretty nice one from Antelope Canyon, I definitely need to get back there again.

Thanks everbody! Yes, it was a great trip, and the Antelope Canyon Phto Tour we booked was one of the highlights for sure.

And I should have mentioned above how much I appreciated all the brainstorming and offers of help for my tripod problem. The TVC-24 has been received at RRS and they are evaluating it, but have already led me to believe that it will be covered under warranty. So that is good news.

    That's awesome to hear Mike.

Although it was sad to have your tripod broken, it was encouraging to me to see how the community here came together to try and help you. That's what a community is all about.
