I have been debating whether or not to post this image. My problem is that the bottom of the boat n the foreground is cropped off because of another partial boat . Do you think it hampers the image too much or is it OK as is. Comment away.

I like the scene but have to admit it caught my eye right off. The boat colors make it stand out. It's still a neat scene.

It's noticeable, but not obnoxious. You couldn't have less of it without it being terribly unbalanced. Do you have a shot with the other partial boat?

    Doug,
Could you use content aware fill to correct the missing part of the boat? I like the shot but the cropped boat is distracting.

    Hey Doug,

It's not noticeable at all to me, and I am one that's OCD about edges. Even after looking at it specifically since you said it, it doesn't bother me. The reason being is you are in a harbor with lot's of boats. If it had been a single boat in the boat, and only one boat then it would have been noticeable. But with lot's of boats? For me it's not an issue.

So... I really like this shot! I am glad you posted it and I hope we get to see more from your trip.

Nice colorful image Doug. While I noticed the cut off, it doesn't take away from the image.

Groups of objects always have to be cut off someplace, it's rare when such a group arranges itself into a clean photo composition.

    I quite like this one.

Thank you Jim Fox, Jim Dockery, Ben Engbert, Jameel Hyder, Bob Shuman, Monika C, and Alan Lichty for your constructive criticism. Here is the original file. Any other suggestions now that you know what I was working with.

Douglas. If you send me a Dng I will put this in next weeks lets play. I think I could clone out enough of the lower boat to get all of the boat that is cut off in the original.

You can send a DNG to egbert1940@gmail.com. Or you can just use a 3000 wide jpg if that's easier.

Yeah, I like Bens idea of using this for Let’s Play Doug! We have lots of landscape shots to use for it, but we really need some variety and this would be a cool photo to use.
