A couple of shots from this mornings outing. Dowitchers, a Lesser Sandhill Crane, a Killdeer, and I'm not sure what kind of duck, anyone know?

Very nice set of shots. My Peterson's Field Guide suggests that the duck is a Ruddy Duck in winter colors.

I have Sibley's field guide and after finding a Ruddy Duck in it, I think you are correct. I found a video of one swimming and it looked just like my duck. I've never seen one out at the refuge before....

An awesome series Jim! That first one with the birds all in formation gliding over the water like that is amazing! All of these are really great, you sure scored!
