I plan to spend the night at the Anticline Overlook at my next trip. I was thinking it is sort of a vertical subject. This image is from a set I took vertically for a horizontal stitch back in 2018. This is one frame.

I think if I got further to the right to get the ridge coming out of the lower left corner it would be a stronger image.

Lots of possibilities from that vantage point. Nice frame for illustrating your query.

Can you get a viewpoint where you can see the road do it's U-turn at the base of the ridge at the bottom of this frame too? If you have the option maybe a little wider on the right?

The turn of that road is not visible from this location. It's the chicken corners road. It goes up steeply and over a pass just before where you see it again on the left.

I have also considered camping near the pass.

I have been part way up the Cane Creek road on a mountain bike but have never driven this part of the Canyonlands area. Really a nice overlook.

I like your idea of the ridge coming from the diagonal lower left of the frame, but you will have to see how the overall image looks. Sure is a cool place to experiment with framing possibilities!
