An Early Milky Way

    Out with Jim Fox the other morning, this was when the moon had gone behind the mountains, but hadn't set yet. The moonlight reflected up into the clouds as seen by my sensor was much like what we see at sunset or sunrise.

    Interesting shot - I like the layers of light blending up into the darkness at the top of the frame and the pastel clouds. Nice capture.

    Very nice work Monika! That was a nice time to be shooting and freezing! The 40 degree temps and blowing wind sure kept the fingers frozen.

    I thought it was really interesting how the sensor picked up colors in the clouds that my eye didn't. Those 15 seconds make a difference.

    And as we noted when we were walking in, that wasn't anywhere near the kind of wind I (& you?) have experienced there before!

    beautiful mw shot! the warm/neutral sky is very pretty over the mountains.

    I love the colors our sensors can pick up at night. Very nice!

    Very nice image, Monika. I find it really interesting how our brains make corrections for what we see. A sensor can't do that so we get to see exactly what the light was in our photos.
