access gallery albums when posting

It would sure be nice to be able to choose a gallery album when posting pictures to a thread, instead of having to scroll back chronologically through all the last uploads, which takes a while for me and makes the photos I uploaded a while ago hard to use.

That's why I load images into my gallery albums right at the time I am about to use them in a thread. I can see where trying to grab something from a couple dozen album additions ago would be a pain.

Another issue - If you have already started a new thread and discover you need to load an image after you brought up the gallery media there is no way to force it to refresh the list so you can add the new image and include it. Happily the forum software keeps a draft of your typing so if you cancel out of the new thread dialogue and start over it brings the draft of your new thread back up. Now when you bring the gallery insert dialogue back up the new media will be present.

I seldom add to my gallery, I just upload directly to the post. I prefer not have a new image I want to show displaying before I post it. But it would be nice to move it to the gallery later without a seperate upload.

Great idea Jim. I will have to do some research on that, but it definitely would make sense for someone who has uploaded lots of photos into various albums to be able to pick the album first for adding photos to a post.

Yep, this is probably the short term solution. One of the things I like best about our forum software is how it does keep a backup of what you have typed and done in case you haven't finished it.
