This is a little known waterfall over in SW Colorado. I went there a month ago with Alisa, and it was quite the adventure to get down to the river level. It had been monsoon raining, we had been getting thunderstorms, and so we waited that out a bit. Eventually hiking out in wet weather gear, and having to descend a couple hundred feet down a little used trail down the side of a cliff having to hold on to trees at points. We probably should have waited, but time was getting short, and the clouds made for perfect lighting in this super narrow canyon.

It was raining still at the bottom, so it made keeping everything dry a bit of a challenge. In the end it was a blast, and it was cool getting to a lesser known location. I am being vague, because I would prefer for this to stay lesser known. Of course people are posting photos of it on Instagram, etc. so I figured it was fine to post it here, I just don't want to narrow down too much of it's location.

    All comments are welcome,

    Jim

Those are some really nice falls. The muddy composition of the water shows the runoff effects of the storms.

That place might also be nice with very low water flows and a long lens.

Thanks! The water had been white, and we noticed when the water started to turn brown. At that point we decided we were done and would climb back up. Not being familiar with it, with all of that run off I didn’t want to be caught down in a narrow canyon Incase of a flash flood.

Thanks Monika! It was pretty fun. Well except for the 10 feet or so I slipped on my butt in the mud like in the movie Goonies...

Great job with this one, Jim. That is a lot of monsoon water pouring down that canyon.

Thanks Pepper. I am not quite sure the photo really does it justice though, it was an awe inspiring waterfall to be down in it.
