A Field of Snow

Driving back down from the Black Canyon of the Gunnison in Colorado there is an area that has lot's of ranches and farm lands. Even though the sunset and long past, these clouds started to glow with color. I liked the fence line and the field so I pulled over and got my tripod and gear back out. It was pretty dark at this point, this is a 3 sec exposure at ISO 400.

All comments are welcome,

Jim

Nice textures in the snow to contrast the patterns in the clouds. That helps to draw my eyes to the distant horizon. Glad you stopped to shoot this.

It has a soft feeling to it, accentuated by the lavender cast. Not all these sunset pictures need to be super contrasty to be breathtaking, and you show that in this one

Nice Jim.. Looks cold.
I like the wave texture of the snow.
Might be interesting as a pano also :)

Dean

Thanks Dean! And you are right, this could work very well as a pano. I need to come up with more pano's for a project I am going to work on anyway, so I need to start thinking pano's or pano crop more.
