Met a friend from North Carolina in SE Arizona for some birding around Madera Canyon and Pena Blanca Canyon and Lake. Perfect weather, some new birds. Some of my favorite pics and birds: Phainopepla, Cactus Wren, Ash-throated Flycatcher and the Elegant Trogon.

These are great Michael. Great job in capturing these birds, they aren't easy to catch.

Pretty interesting birds. I am familiar with the cactus wren and the ash throated flycatcher but have never seen the Phainopepla and the Elegant Trogon before. Neat shots of all of these.

Love that Cactus Wren on what I believe is an Occotillo.

Great job, Mike, especially with the elusive Elegant Trogan. Did you find him in Madera Canyon? He is one of the birds I haven't had the luck to find as of yet.
