Fall's Last Gasps

Just when I had thought that Fall Color had left me behind and I had missed the bus, I found Fall's Last Gasps in New Mexico. As I was leaving the Los Alamos area to head up to Colorado I spotted this area that was being backlit by the low early morning sun as it broke through the clouds.

So I had to stop. The 7.5 hour drive to my daughters ended up being more like 11 hours, but hey life is more fun when you take detours... :)

All comments are welcome,

Jim

Really nice color contrasts - I'd stop for that.

Fall isn't quite over yet in other places too. I caught some colors yesterday up along the Chetco River.

Nice shot.. I love the muted earth tone browns at the end of fall. This looks so great with the FG and tree color popping against the greens.

Thanks Alan. It’s great to hear that there is still some color out there too.

a very nice way to spend an extra 3.5 hours on the road! the burnt orange of the tree is perfect against the cool blue shadows of the hill behind it.
