Dragon flies and ?

Neat set of captures. The shadow in the first one is unique but the angle of the subject on top of the leaf leaves it mostly out of focus. I love the critter isolation and detail in all of the last three shots and would be hard pressed to pick a favorite. Nice work.

These are so awesome! Maybe @Eric Gofreed can help with the ID. The closest I can come is Dragon Fly. If you pushed me I would go with Red Dragon Fly, Blue Dragon Fly, etc...

I hope you saved a Dragon Fly to post for Winged Wednesday?

check out bugguide.net. Amateur and professional entomologist will ID them for you.

The first one looks like a Ebony jewelwing,
The second one looks like a Needham's Skimmer
The third looks like a Blue dasher

Please don't take my guesses on Dragonflies identification so post them to bugguide.net to be certain

thank you Alan! I do agree about that first one, but that shadow was my main target so It's a compromise.
Nice set Joe, the last is the star of the show.
Thank you Ben
