National Camera Day is just around the corner. It's on June 29th.

Tex had a great idea that for National Camera Day everyone post a photo of their Film Camera(s). It can be a current Film Camera that you use now, or perhaps it's one that you used in the past.

I stuck my 2 cents in, and tweaked the idea that Tex had, and I think if you have a working film camera, past or present, in addition to the photo of the film camera, also post a photo that was taken with that film camera.

While it's awesome to see the history represented by these film camera's, I think it would also be interesting to see a little bit of the quality (hopefully :) ) that was produced by them.

My old film cameras are stuck in a box that is buried in my storage shed, but at the last Camera Swap Meet I attended, I bought a couple of old film camera's. So I am going to try and get a roll of 35mm film to run through one of them. Hopefully the camera works...

I am bringing this all up now, so everyone has time to prepare photos of the film camera or go out and shoot some photos with their film camera before June 29th.

It's almost National Camera Day! Be sure to dig out your old film camera's an participate.

I have spent the last 2 days slowly shooting a roll of film in my 1953 Agfa Stileto camera. It has no metering, no focusing feedback. It was a shock to my system.

To be honest I don't really see how National Camera Day is dedicated to film vs. digital. I will post an image of my old Canon EOS film camera and an image from it but it's an insignificant part of my camera gear collection at this point.

I have not had the luxury of space that allowed me to save my old twin lens reflex cameras for the almost 50 years since the last one stopped working and I donated my Pentax Spotmatic gear (thread mount lenses and all) to the University of Utah Archaeological Center in the late 1980's since they were still using thread mount Pentaxes for field work.

It could also be film cameras that you have not used, but collected at various antique stores and swap meets. Because, you know, you just like to look at them and you needed something to do while attending countless antique swap meets with your wife! Just say'in........ ;)
