Aspen with a Twist

As I was leaving Colorado for New Mexico and driving down Hwy 550 between Silverton and Durango I can across many cool stands of aspen, this was one area where I decided to stop and explore a bit before heading into the desert. I have 3 different compositions involving this particular twisted tree, and this is the one I decided to process first.

All comments are welcome,

Jim

I like the pattern of the golden leaves in this view. The twisted trunk adds some interest.
Yeah, that is a nice pattern Alan, that caught my eye also. My other 2 shots from here are a wider and include more leaves, but I thought being tighter with that smaller display worked well.

Now that is a cool capture, and it sounds like from a comment you made above an example of when less turns out to be more, by cropping in a little. I still could benefit from that myself quite often I think. Nice colors, and the unique trunk shape make this one for me.

I think the Aspen with a hitch in it's giddy-up makes for an interesting twist. Pun intended. I like these unique intimate shots. Good job Jim.

Great shot ! A little minimal which is a plus for me ! Did you use a flash at all? It almost looks like it
