This looks great Shibu! It looks like I will miss peak colors in RMNP.

Have you been down to any of the passes off of the I-70 like Boreas?

Great photo. I'm going to go Tuesday for my first time. Been in Colorado for 30 years and have never gone out just to look at the trees.

I find it interesting that fall colour is so advanced. On this side of the pond peak colour is usually last week of Oct to first week of November. This year will probably be poor because we had a very hot and dry summer. At the present time almost no trees have any Autumn colour. I live at 55N about the same as the very south of Alaska so it may be a latitude thing. Ken

Hi Jim, I'm not planning to go t o Boreas pass/hwy285 area this year. Next weekend (22nd 23rd) I'll be Aspen area, 29-30th in Telluride, oct 1-2 in Kebler pass area. Let me know if are in any of those area around that time.

Amazing how far long those colors are. Nothing even close to that level of colors in the Rockies up in northern Montana. Beautiful shot.
Hi Alan, in RMNP the colors are near peak, it may last for one more week, I saw a good amount of Aspens just turning to yellow.

Hey Ken, I think latitude plays a part of it, also elevation is a huge factor. While Wyoming into Colorado usually changes color from the last couple of weeks of Sept into the first part of Oct, there are other areas like Zion or Yosemite that their fall colors don't chance until the end of October into the first week of November. The exciting thing for us here is that allows us to shoot the fall colors in multiple locations with totally varied topography each season.

I know after I shoot fall colors in Colorado this year, I will then head to shoot in the Eastern Sierra, and then after a couple week break head either to Yosemite or Zion to finish up the fall.

Hey Shibu, good chance I will be there in Telluride on the 29-30th. Dean and Bart should be there also, not sure who else is all going but Amy lives close by, so we will have to all get together.

Jim I had forgotten about altitude. In Scotland we have a few areas above 3000 ft, low by N. American standards but no trees as they are scoured by frequent 100+ mph winds and have almost no soil. Just looked it up Scottish tree line is 1600 ft and here 10 mile from the border will be similar. Ken

That's interesting to hear Ken. The winds you guys can get there is mind boggling. I had just seen on the news where a woman somewhere in the UK was killed the other day when the RV she was in was blown off of a cliff. That's pretty scary.
