Eric is off to Brazil to photograph some great birds for the next three weeks so here I am in my feeble attempt to fill in for him. I'll be in Phoenix tomorrow morning, so I am starting this post today.

There is no other theme this week, just things with wings. I am going to feature birds from Bosque del Apache.

My shots today are insects that I have shot this week in my garden.

A Cabbage White butterfly on an Aster flower

I think a Grass Skipper butterfly on my Milkweed.

Some kind of Aphid on the underside of a tobacco leaf. (My son grows tobacco for ceremonial purposes).

A number of Andrena sp. of bees on Milkweed.

This morning at a local marsh trying to catch dragonflies on the wing, An A7R4 is not the best camera for this but it is the best that I have. Impossible to get closer so these are cropped to 3% of the original. Ken
