Almost hard to believe but this week marks 7 years worth of Waterfall Wednesdays :)

I have one more shot from Shepperd's Dell in the Columbia River from a couple of weeks ago while I was playing around with shooting waterfalls without a tripod. I had a reasonable level of success handheld at 1/6s and less as I went down to 1/5s and 1/4s. I got excellent results down to 1/4s using a monopod but this image is a handheld at 1/6s.

Latourell Falls during an ice storm. The path to the falls was so slippery that I stopped at this point seeing that a slip would put me in the water 40 feet below. You can see how the wind was whipping the falling water back towards the wall instead of outward.

Neat shot. I have some pull-on ice cleats for my boots that I use for that trail during the winter months when the ice gets thick. Getting down to the footbridge can be impossible without them during the heavy ice storms but the views are breathtaking.
