My falls this week are from peak fall colors in the Columbia River Gorge last year in early November. Just to be a bit different this is a 166mm telephoto image showing the top of Multnomah Falls as seen from about 350' above the Columbia River. A slightly different perspective for a thoroughly over-shot photo icon. If you look closely there is an observation platform just to the left of the top of the falls.

Certainly a different point of view than the usual image from the base of the lower falls! I like how the water creates different downward shapes the further it falls. The peak color shows through nicely.

Thanks - I almost posted this as a "Guess where these falls are?" since the viewpoint defies the usual stereotype of this place :)

This is Burney Falls in Northern California. When President Theodore Roosevelt visited here in 1901, he proclaimed it to be "the Eighth Wonder of the World". I don't know if that's true, but it's certainly in my all time top 10 of all the waterfalls I have experienced.

I love this one. I have not been there but this venue looks like a place where you could spend the whole day finding new compositions within the overall scene.

Despite living in Washington State for 18 years, I hadn’t explored many of its significant areas. Yesterday, My wife and I decided to change that by driving about 400 miles to explore some remote regions in the south chasing fall foliage. Came across this small but cute waterfall outside a tiny town of Yocolt, WA.

Are these Yacolt Falls near the Moulton park? Nice image of these falls.

The forest in this scene has a lot more color than the Gorge right now.

Beautiful falls. I haven’t visited that part of the state either and this image makes me want to fix that.
