Turning around (+edit)

While I was looking through images for this Thursday's task, I ran into this image which I had started processing but never completed. It was time to complete it. This was during one of the Zion trips and making the all important trip to photograph the watchman. I went down the trail from the bridge rather than be on it. This was looking away from watchman and partially towards the bridge. The flowing water and the sky looked interesting and so turned my attention to that.

I never saw the original but the edit looks nice. Definitely a difficult dynamic range to cover with the tops of the tallest trees in the shade but with the bright towers behind them

I meant to add the new image while keeping the old. I accidentally deleted the old and now I don't have it to show as a comparison.

Hey Jameel,

This one looks awesome in the water and ground, and awesome in the sky. As mentioned this is a really tough image to process. The rocks still don't quite seem right, they are close but something seems off.

This could make a really cool Let's Play I think if you were of the mind.

The river and mountains together might be too much in the scene and might be better as separate images. The dark tree tops and bright tree bottoms look like you've covered way too much dynamic range to look natural.

That is what I am concluding here as well. Thanks Tim.

Thanks Jim. I tend to agree with Tim on the approach - I have bitten off way too much DR to chew I guess.
