This is super cool Ben, and well with the revisit. It's a place I need to go that I just haven't been to.

You need a permit. But when I was there in I think April, I had the campground to myself.

Sweet shot. I really wanted to get out there on our recent visit, but that drive would have been too much for my wife.

It is a long way and the last 3 miles are pretty rough.

Looks like a freeway compared to the road @MonikaC used to get us to the Lewis Lodge trailhead. That was flat out rock crawling in her FJ.

And I hate rock crawling One of the most tedious things I can think of.

Thanks for the flashback! I visited in 2014. Still my most memorable trip. Longing to go again!
