The Moon and Sun

Eugene Oregon never really left the days of Ken Kesey and his Merry Pranksters and every year celebrates the late 60's and early 70's with an event called The Oregon Country Fair. This is not for the faint of heart but can be a photographer's delight since there are thousands of people who don elaborate (or not) costumes and show up to be seen and photographed. This image is but a tiny sample of the visual feast of the OCF - an acolyte for the moon meeting up with a priest for the sun:

Hey Alan,

What a unique shot. I have read about the Oregon Country Fair. It sounds like it would be a fun event to be at with so many characters.

Getting there is the hardest part - best plan is to park in Eugene and use the bus system to get out to Veneta. It is not a small event. Eugene runs busses out there and back all days during the OCF.

I hear more about the Blackberry festival down in Sutherlin where they live. I almost relocated to Eugene in the late 90's but the job offer did not pan out.

Looks like a great event. As a Kesey fan, and wannabe hippy (I was a bit late and too responsible), I've got to put that on my calendar. Thanks for the heads up.
