The Blast Zone

Summers in the NW aren't always bone dry and cloud free although that is pretty common for July and August. This is from an August trip to Mt. St. Helens that was dry but the cloud cover did a number on my view of the volcano. It really is behind the clouds but all I got was a good view of the wildflowers and the barren plains right below the mouth of the crater as seen from Johnson's Ridge.

C&C always welcome.

Hey Alan, a nice display of wildflowers you got.

Yeah, Mt Saint Helens does seem to a rather shy girl a lot of the time. Getting shots of the crater seem to be a bit elusive from my limited experience there.

Not sure if the clouds and the mystery they bring might not even make this better. In any case, love the framing, focus, and depth, that all add up to this making me feel like I am standing right there on the ridge myself. Really like this one, very inspirational stuff!
