Fun angle to view this from. The concrete as a bottom layer here doesn't offer much flexibility for upgrading/modifying the neon displays. Most obvious given that the sign itself seems a bit dated.

I cant believe they didnt add a wooden layer to the bottom or outside to affix things to instead of drilling holes all over the neon... It does have a nice look though like a 1930 LA look...
