Jackson Hole

It's never been quite clear exactly what or where Jackson Hole is. The nearby town is simply Jackson. I've never seen any sort of hole in the ground that was deserving of such a name. I concluded that it is the generally low wide area in the valley to the east to the Tetons in Wyoming that the Snake River eventually passes through. I was pretty close to that when I made this image, (hopefully) appropriately titled 'Jackson Hole'.

You could title this Awesome Scene Jeffery and it would be as appropriate as Jackson Hole. Both fit totally fine here.

I will say this is one of the best images I have seen from there in quite a while. That dusting of snow is so cool.

And that's a great question. You are correct in that there should be a hole... Now I am curious about the name. I always wondered as I have called it Jackson Hole, but the town is just "Jackson". I had found that strange that it wasn't "Jackson Hole".
