End of Year in the Palouse

Here is a snapshot of our "winter" in the Palouse...not much of it. Its kind of strange seeing so much green in the winter wheat fields. I chased down some fantastic light this past Tuesday. Both are panos shot with my recently acquired geared head. It has already been much worth it than dealing with the ballheads that I've used for many years, though I'll still opt for the ballheads when hiking.

This second shot was taken from the same spot as the first image, just turned 90 degrees to the South for a green field and nice clouds.

I like this view of Steptoe with the nice feeling of depth in the distant clouds. The soft contours of light in the foreground of the second image are quite compelling as well.

I need to look you up next time I head out that way since you know this area like the back of your hand and I certainly do not. I am really itching to try shooting the Palouse with my drone but so far getting away from Vancouver has been an elusive goal.

Nice set and interesting to see the contrast of brown and green fields from the same vantage point. Like Alan, I have been thinking about going there with a drone since last year. Hopefully this year it materializes.

Oh how neat! I like how both of these look. It's so cool you can so easily capture it's seasons there. You worked those rolling hills so well.
