Eastern Sierra Fall Colors?

I've been the last 6 years in a row. I'm trying to plan and book lodging for this year. I like to stay in the June Lake/Lee Vining area and catch the colors as they come down to the lower elevations. (JL Loop, Lee Vining Canyon, Lundy Canyon, Conway Summit, etc) In past years I've started my stays anywhere between Oct 7 and Oct 16. I honestly cannot say earlier or later is better. I've experienced good and poor conditions. This year I'm looking at Oct 6-10 or 13-17. I'm also wondering if the heavy winter will have an impact good or bad, early or late as to the fall colors this year.

Anybody have any thoughts or ideas?

Thanks.

If I had to pick dates, the 6-10 is what I would choose. You might get color the 13-17 but it would be the tail end of it in my experience.

But as you know, the color changes year to year.
