Dogwood among Giant Sequoias

I'm always looking for those shots in the forest and rarely pull them off (just yesterday my wife was wondering why I was shooting more of the leaves on a walk we took). You nailed it here, ont first glance I thought it would look better with the background even more out of focus, but now I like it just like this - the dead limbs are a cool abstract pattern, and there is plenty of detail to give a sense of place without distracting from the main show.

Thanks for the feedback, Jim. One problem is that the light extremely fleeting. With so many trees the sun doesn't have to move very far for the light to change. In this situation I saw it coming and still only had time for two photos.
