Dense Fog Advisory Alert

5:25am, I glanced at my phone and there were those beautiful words "Dense Fog...". I was so excited (you see we only get 1 to 2 mornings a year of fog) I leaped out of bed, took care of the animals, grabbed my equipment and was on the road by 5:45am. The fog was like pea soup, you couldn't see 10 feet in front of you, not to mention it was still very dark. I headed down to an area that I thought would be ideal for this type of photography. Once the light started to glow through the fog I took up shooting with my visible light camera, but by 9:00am it was perfect for Infrared photography. This shot was taken with my converted Canon EOS-R5 Full Spectrum with a 665nm filter (wish I had switch to a 720nm or 810nm filter). When we do get fog it usually only lasts maybe an hour or two, this dense fog stayed strong until 11:00am, I was in heaven.

Wow!!! Love the look of this! The fog is so great looking! It has such a mysterious look to this. I could see a mystery writer wanting to use this on their book cover!

Thanks Jim, it felt great to get out shooting again. When I stopped here, I though to myself, twilight zone, and this was the gate entrance to the unknown.

I can see why you would get excited if you only occasionally see the stuff. Neat use of the light. We tend to get a lot of fog where I live since I am within a couple of miles of the Columbia River at only 200' elevation.
