Bartram Trail sunset

This is from a favorite, though little known, sunset spot in North Carolina off the Bartram Trail at Jones Gap. I have shot sunset here a number of times, but have never seen anyone else shooting sunset from this spot. Anyway, this sunset was not a stunner in person, but for some reason, I was very pleased with how this image came out so I thought to share it here.

And pleased you should be, this is a very pleasing scene with the depth provided by the receding mountains and the nice light. The ferns in the foreground are a topping.

Certainly made a great image no matter the on site experience. Nice layers in the mountains and the sunset had just the right amount of color to light up the sky. Nice place to have to yourself :)

Lovely location and nice image. You had nice light and the layers of the distant hills are fantastic. One minor point - the rock on the lower right is quite bright and draws attention. Darkening it would address that.
