A good sunrise

Normally I walk around my neighborhood to take mrning photos, on rare occasions, I venture a bit further.

Last Saturday it seemed a good chance, I left home at 4:00 am to drive two hours to the Mather lake just east of Sacramento, it's a nice pond just on the bird migratory route.

Lucky me, I got there just before the sun came out of the horizon; there were many mallards, Canada geese, resident mute swans, ...

Thanks Ben, it was a bit struggle to get up that early, I had to get some sleep after coming back, at my age.

Yup, Alan, the sunrise & reflection were very intense; I had one camera set up for time lapse, another for photos. The Mather lake has been filled up nicely by the December rain, lucky me, it was not foggy.

I would put this in the “awesome” category! This is an incredible display of color. What a great way to start your day.
