    Wizard's Hat

I think this is the rock that goes by that name near Bandon OR. There are a number of nice pointy rocks in the area near Face Rock.

    Cape Kiwanda Drone Views

I was excited to fly my drone at Cape Kiwanda, but it was so windy at sunset I chickened out and shot from the ground. These were late morning shots, still windy but not so gusty. If you click through to the gallery view in the first picture you can spot my wife and I standing by the fence on...

    Friday's Focus - Wave Splashes - 2020/02/14

The Focus this Friday is on Landscapes cousin, Seascapes. So our Seascape Focus is on Splashes! Dig through and post your wave splashes and add them to this thread. I will start with a few from a pretty common location in Oregon, Thor's Well. Jim #1 #2 #3 - Perhaps one of my all time...

    Fly By

From a few weeks or more back up along the coast in California by San Simeon. I found this cool spot that I liked. Usually I am shooting so slow for the water, that birds flying turn into smears. So it was nice for once to have been shooting faster as the birds approached. I think they add a lot...

    Rialto Beach

I've posted more over in the B&W forum. I had the beach almost to myself for a couple hours last week.

    Rialto Beach

My wife and I made it out to the Olympic Beaches for 3 days last week. This first post is from our 2nd day when we walked up Rialto Beach. Ellen Creek was flowing fast from recent rains so I had to cross a tricky log jam that my wife and friends declined. Only a few fellow dare devils got past...

    Water, rocks and clouds

I have waited for this time of season with those beautiful high clouds and here they are at my favorite beach. I tried to match the shape of clouds to those little waves. More than happy to have your thoughts.

Oops I did it again :)

In the previous thread I replayed to Alan (great photo IMHO) about taking a photo at midday light but I myself lost again and surrendered to that magic light yesterday at my hometown beach. To be honest I was so happy to be there after a while. C&C are welcome as always.

    Friday's Focus - 2019/06/14 - Waves

The Focus this Friday is on Waves! What comes to mind is Waves at the ocean, but I know some lakes can get Waves. A big Plus to anyone who comes up with a non Ocean Wave. I will start with a few of mine, Jim

    Splash

It's sure been a windy place in California, at least in SoCal over the last week. I ran to the beach a couple of nights last week as the clouds were looking cool. In this case the tide wasn't supposed to be this high, but the extreme high winds seemed to be pushing the waves closer to shore and...

    Butterfly at the Beach

Technically, I think she was supposed to be a Fairy, and she did look like one. But my very first impression of her was that she had butterfly wings on, so I am sticking with that. :) This was last Sunday night at La Jolla in San Diego. The tide was about perfect, and there was a great opening...

    La Jolla Splash-a-thon

We went down to San Diego to go visit a large Christmas store they have there and I made sure to bring my camera along as I was hoping that afterwards a visit to La Jolla for sunset would work out. And it did. :) This is in the Hospital Reef area, it's a very cool area with lot's of rocks...

    Scales

Hey guys! Waited for this for few weeks, cause it happens only a certain sea level and wind power, and then there is of course the light... ;-) _DSC8063-SV20 by lionking posted Aug 22, 2018 at 10:00 AM Cheers!

    Dawn at Vik Beach

Taken at about 3:30am looking away from the rising sun. What caught my eye was the way the sand reflected the morning light when the waves receded back to the ocean. The contrast was interesting and the thought of a black and white landscape immediately came to mind.
