From Valley of Fire, a Mecca of Infrared possibilities! :)
I got this 2 weeks ago as I was out exploring and keeping my eye open not just for regular photos but also for photos that might look cool as Infrared. This is one of them that I thought could end up with some cool color contrasts...
You can only be in Valley of Fire State Park in Nevada at night if they have a special event or if you are in a campground. On this particular night, there was both a special event and I was in the campground. So after the special event at the Fire Wave closed down at 8pm (Which I still have to...
Out at the Fire Wave for sunrise on the morning that my D810 died. The color was to the east, but the composition was to the north. :)
If you have never been to Valley of Fire, it is in my mind a must see location. It's in the middle of Nevada, but it's not far off the I-15 so it's not hard to...
A mirror image this could have been... Hopefully you can see what I am seeing.... or perhaps not seeing.... :)
Valley of Fire, Nevada. This isn't too far from the parking area for the Fire Wave.
This also is not Channel Swapped but it does have the Custom WB for Infrared. I have really been...
Thunderstorm Arch is in Valley of Fire. I captured it a week ago, and with the stormy skies that morning, this arch seemed like the appropriate place to be shooting.
This is a 590nm IR shot that was channel swapped and then converted to B&W.

This is from a week ago in Valley of Fire. After shooting the stars over the Fire Wave I came over by my campsite and went down the road just a bit to set up for timelapses. This is one from the timelapses I shot and it was one of the last shots captured by my beloved Nikon D810 before huge...
In Valley of Fire north of Las Vegas Nevada I found this one hillside where it looked like the plants were marching up it!
This doesn't have a Channel Swap as I liked this look better.

Valley of Fire could easily be renamed Valley of Stripes as there are stripes all over the place. This is from the Fire Wave area, as the sunset colors quickly moved I moved my position with them to help keep them in the composition.

After spending a few day's with Ben and getting to spend an hour in the morning when Jeffrey arrived in Hanksville, I left to head back to California. Plotting my route and trying to figure out where I would shoot the sunset along the way. As it turned out, going into Valley of Fire gave me just...
I took these while walking out to the Fire Wave (I can't really call it a hike). For the first two, I found what was essentially a rain puddle and decided I needed to try getting some reflections looking back in the direction of the trailhead. For the last two, I was trying to use the lines in...
I made a quick stop in Valley of Fire on my way back from Utah/Arizona last week, my first time in the park. After visiting "the wave" I figured I needed to see the "fire wave". It is definitely a cool area worthy of more time than I had to spend.
Any thoughts are welcome.
It's been quite a while since the last time I shared anything here. Finally getting back into shooting and had the opportunity to take a friend out to Valley of Fire last week. Got lucky enough to get several shots of this guy...
An old archived shot from Valley of Fire in Nevada that I am editing on the road. Hopefully it looks okay as I am using a borrowed monitor.

One I just processed from the archives. This is Valley of Fire in Nevada, just a short drive north of Las Vegas. This is in the Fire Wave area. Although the Fire Wave is super cool, there is just so many cool and interesting geography in that whole area.
This was at sunset, not a lot of clouds...
If you have driven to Valley of Fire you know that it has one of the coolest landscape and driving roads that there is. Lot's of curving and up and down action, the only time it isn't fun is if you get caught behind someone driving 25mph down it...
Here is one of my attempts at capturing...
From my wanderings out in Valley of Fire a few years back. Not too far from the Fire Wave area there are just so many cool formations and ground textures when one goes wandering around a bit. This is one area.

Went to Valley of Fire in Southern Nevada early Saturday morning with my friend Darcy Grizzle to catch some sunrise shots. This is one of the images I captured. Any CC is welcome. :)
There is an issue with Uploading Photos (attachjments). I am not sure what the problem is, and I am looking into it. You can still try to Create your Threads and Upload your Photos, but it is hanging up during the Upload.
