The sunrise this morning was a bit cloudy, there was some slight coloring in the clouds but mostly not. So I went with B&W of this scene of Sneffels from the Dallas Divide in SW Colorado.

While shooting in Colorado on CR 7 in the San Juan Mountains not far from Ridgway, the sunset turned epic in pretty short order. While I had shot the clouds with Mt Sneffel in the composition, I couldn't ignore this hillside just to the left. While there are no mountains in view at this angle...
Well, the title actually may not make a lot of sense, but the sunset did kind of pick up and snowball itself into something pretty cool. And this was the day after the first dusting of snow on the peaks which we had been not so patiently waiting for.
So this is Mt Sneffels in the San Juan...
While exploring back on CR7 in the San Juan Mountains, it was another nice stormy afternoon. The new Beaver creek had dried up due to the drought conditions, so I focused more on Sneffels itself. This was one that as soon as I took it I was thinking B&W. So here it is. :)

Blue Lake Basin get's all the press, and it appears that from the Blue Lakes Basin trailhead that 99% of people take it to the Blue Lakes. But just as the trail starts out from the trailhead, there is another trail that veers off to the North and it leads to Blaine Basin. I have walked past that...
That is Mt Sneffels in the background, this is an area that only 3 years ago looked nothing like this. The beavers were busy 2 years ago and dammed up a creek which changed it's flow which then created all of this. It's amazing to see how much the erosion has worked from one year to the next and...
There is an issue with Uploading Photos (attachjments). I am not sure what the problem is, and I am looking into it. You can still try to Create your Threads and Upload your Photos, but it is hanging up during the Upload.
