Colorado sure makes it hard to want to go anywhere else to photograph for fall color... Although I have gone to Grand Teton for fall I haven't been much of anywhere else for fall because of views like this! CC Welcome!

The weather lately in the Eastern Sierra has mostly been clear blue skies like most of Southern California. But I diligently watch the weather, and saw that in the upper Eastern Sierra by Mammoth on Tuesday had gone from 20% afternoon thunderstorms up to 40% and then decreasing on towards sunset...

i like it when I can get the right angle so that the wave splashes will line up with the sun and turn the water golden. The effect usually looks best with faster shutter speeds so the water thins out some so it can get lit up like a stained glass. A slower shutter speed which lets the water...
