I think this is the year I dabble in a bit of BW. So here is another macro shot I took this morning of some frozen bubbles. The temps have been perfect to create these. A bit challenging but fun! CC Welcome!
The focus for this week is Frozen - share some images that feature frozen water (or something else if you must :) ).
I'll lead off with the image that gave me the idea. I have my desktop wallpaper rotating through images and this one appeared this morning. It was captured during a January...
Hi All! I had the pleasure meeting Jim on a weekend visit down to Ouray. Our paths crossed at one of my favorite hot springs. I am an amateur photographer who bought a macro lens just before coronavirus hit. It makes simple objects around my house look amazing.
On a warm Colorado day I am...
While reveling in the fresh fallen snow while at my daughters in Colorado a week or so ago I had gone out with a camera to shoot more intimate snow scenes and this is another one I found. This leaf was standing on edge frozen in place despite rather gusty winds.
All comments are welcome,
Jim
The recipe ingredient for this week was "frozen" - images depicting frozen things or taken in freezing weather. Kyle's winning image was both, taken at Abraham Lake in Alberta, Canada on a cold January morning. Barry's excellent intimate image was a close second.
Here is the winning photo:
This week's ingredient was selected by Jeffrey who won our last contest. This time it is "Frozen". These are images that depict frozen elements or are made in freezing weather/environments.
Post your favorite image (doesn't have to be recent) that showcases a frozen. Any genre can work for this...
From last month in Colorado. It was pretty cold out, and I had to camp in -1 to -6 degree weather a few times. But shots like this made it worth it. It had been snowing and the grass filled field everything was frozen with frost and ice on top of the snow. This is in color. :)

Yesterday's sunrise at frozen Dream Lake, Rocky Mountain National Park. Both pictures took from the same location at around same time, one facing west and the other east. It was very hard to take the pictures with gusty winds up to 35 mph.
It is awfully hot in California this weekend, so here are a couple of shots from the coldest day I've experienced (-35°F). These are both from Johnston Canyon in Banff taken last January. Any thoughts are welcome.

There is an issue with Uploading Photos (attachjments). I am not sure what the problem is, and I am looking into it. You can still try to Create your Threads and Upload your Photos, but it is hanging up during the Upload.
