Hi friends! This last weekend was a much needed getaway to UT!! Jim and I meet up in Grand Junction From there traveled to Factory Butte, Capitol Reef, and SW CO around Ridgway. Here is an image from the Factory Butte area at sunset.
cc welcome.
This is a timelapse from Factory Butte in Utah! I was out there with @Amy Nelson and we got there in the dark and set up in the dark with no real stars showing, just some clouds. A storm started up with some cool lightning. Most of the strikes were just so bright though, they were difficult to...
Any suggestions for a title, I am open. :)
This was from last September at Factory Butte in Utah. Amy had met with me there for a few days, and one of them we spent the night shooting a storm and then the Milky Way over Factory Butte. This is one of the frames. It's a single image, despite no...
I had to share another pano, this time looking back at the point where most people park. We wanted a bit more privacy so parked our camper on the left.
I just finished processing this one and am pretty excited so I'm posting it very large (gallery image that you can zoom in on). It's my kind of selfie - when I look very close in front of the truck camper I can see myself flying the drone.
Here is the camper detail at full size:
My wife and I spent the night out at Skyline in our camper last week. Nice clouds cooperated for photos but no rain.
Factory Butte on the drive in.

This was at Factory Butte a little over about 10 days ago. Amy and I had spent the night photographing the Milky Way over Factory Butte. As sunset approached Amy went over to Skyline Overlook to shoot some IR images for a spot there, and I chose to stay at Factory Butte because I wanted to fly...
This is Factory Butte from the south as you drive in. What I like is it lets you see the west side of it. 95% of all shots of Factory Butte I think are taken further north on the road so you are shooting the east side of it.
As Ben and I returned from exploring Cow Dung Road I asked Ben to stop...
As Ben explained when we woke up for sunrise, there was no clouds at all at Skyline Overlook. One of the great things about Skyline is we can see Factory Butte from there. We saw that there was some light clouds forming around it and we knew no matter what we had a lot of wildflowers we could...
Last fall on day 1 the weather was good at Maroon bells (met Jim Fox there), next day was this! Can't complain, mother nature always gift us with something!
This one is similar to another I had posted. I like the previous better but thought that this still had some merit. It's from a bit of a stormy morning.
All comments are welcome,
Jim
This is from Factory Butte which is located not far from Canyonlands. It was a fun morning to be there, no one was around except for a few cows wandering around.
All comments are welcome,
Jim
