This is a shot looking west from the primary overlook trail at the Painted Hills in Oregon. I have been fascinated with the details of this old snag ever since I first visited the Painted Hills and with this last visit I had some very interesting stormy light to help me fill in the scene I framed with it.

    C&C always welcome.

It’s so uniform it could be man (or alien) made. Very interesting.

Edit: Sorry, I was talking about the unique hill beyond. The snag has it’s own personality as well.

That's a nice way to put that old tree on display.

Alan, yours is a nice balanced image with how all the elements come together.
Here's that same old dead tree, I think it's still there, though this was taken spring of '09

Thanks. It's definitely still there - my shot was taken just a little over a month ago.
