Almost a month late in the Adirondacks, spring is full throttle. So I wandered to some favorite scenes with my grandson to shoot some brooks the morning after a nice spring rain.

    Here's a couple:

The trail (part of the Northville to Placid), NPT Trail:

    Thanks for viewing. C&C welcome

Ahhh, beautiful scenes. These look just like the Smokies. All are excellent but #1 pulls me in and makes me want to see what's around the corner.

I love the dark forest with the mosses - esp. #2 and #3. The third one would be fantastic in the fall.

Hey Bart, these are so cool. It's hard to pick favorites as all of them area really great. I would lean to #3 and 4 as my favorites.

Your Grandson must be getting pretty old now? His name is Colton? But I am not positive, it's almost on the tip of my tongue... or does it start with a G?

Thanks all. I really miss the SW, and hope to get there some time later this year, but you know how it is on your own turf; it's nice when the conditions match your hopes and expectations. It was one such day.

Yes, Jim you're very close, Colden is my "newest" son, now 7; my grandson Tristen was with us in Zion (when we hiked the Subway -- and you were both treated by my sudden fall into the North Fork -- and we shot those long exposure leaf-swirls near Archangel Falls.) Tristen is 18 now finished his 2nd year of college. (Tempus fugit)

Robyn & I are thinking of a swing into RMNP or Crested Butte area this fall, if so, I'll check on your timing if you're going there again.

Mike: Thank you for your note. I was in the Smokies last August to shoot the Eclipse (Franklin), and really lucked out. I did get out into the mountains to get some ideas for fall shooting. Hopefully this year. What's the timing range for fall colors?
