I was shooting Mono Lake in the afternoon, hoping for a nice sunset. It looked like it wasn't going to happen so I started looking for some interesting clouds. We then started getting some color to the west, which I captured in this image. I liked the rocks in the foreground, because for me they place this at Mono Lake. I can also see how they might be a distraction. So as always, any thoughts are welcome!

I also include shore rocks like this so I don't consider them a problem. Good save.

    Hey Kyle,

It's rare to see a Mono Lake shot without the tufa's in it, I have only done it a few times so it's great to see another one from there that doesn't include and tufa spires. I like this and I like the bits of tufa in the foreground corner and I think that they anchor the shot nicely.

The rocks down in the corner remind me to look around the water for more features like the tufa's on the far shore. The reflection helps extend the bits of color that you did catch.

Nice one Kyle. Like the sky and the reflection. In my time there I found the place ideal for sunrise. With the sun setting behind the montains the place is in shadows. You ran into good light here.
