One of my favorite places to shoot in Yosemite is Cooks Meadow and getting reflections of Half Dome in the pond and marsh area. This was from this last spring.

Beautiful light and clouds. Did you try any from a lower vantage point? I'm wondering how it would look with less of the middle ground.

Thanks Kyle, I am glad you liked this. That's an interesting idea, I am usually a shoot at full tripod height type of guy, it's very rare I ever lower my tripod down, but you bring up a good point as it would then have less middle ground. I will have to give that a try next time.

Nice scene - I can see why you keep coming back to shoot it.

Thanks Alan. The idea is the reflection, and the marsh area is never the same, it changes from year to year, so it’s nice to be able to go back each year as there are subtle changes anyway each year.

What? Half Dome photo-bombed another image!:D
Love it when there the right amount of flooding in the meadows for this.
Really like the softer/pastel colors in this one.

    LOL, apologies...
I know the feeling, some images take huge amount of mental energy to prepare yourself for the re-do...
    :D:D:D

Once though, my sight saved a deer, we were on the fire range in the army, at some point i saw a deer in a distance far beyond the targets , it was so far, i had hard time showing it to my CO...

Ha ha.... fortunately this redo should be pretty simple, it's just I am busy packing to run out to Joshua Tree for a couple of days, so I might not have time to attack it until I get back.

That poor little deer didn't even realize that it was saved from long distance! Good work there! :)
