My husband, dog & I took a short trip to Mt Evans over our "weekend" (Sun/Mon). A few obligatory shots of Milky Way &, of course, the goats.
Golden Banner & the purple penstemon virens are roadside. Grasses & trees have a healthy shade of green.
He hiked from Summit Lake to the summit & said the flowers were looking good. (after not much sleep due to shooting & very high winds, I was occupied by the fauna instead)

I love the goats - esp. the second one with the little one. Neat MW shot although that shooting location looks like it could be rather brisk with windy conditions.

Awesome Monika! This looks like it was a great trip, what super cool shots that you got. I like them all, one can never go wrong with mountain goats though they have been pretty elusive for me. You nailed the Milky Way shot, I look forward to getting home and looking at it on a larger screen.

The baby was rather intimidated by the adults. It would sniff a bit, then turn & run off, making cute little distressed sounds (at least to my ears). I have no idea which one was the mother.
We bivied a few hundred feet higher than where I shot the MW. When I first got up around midnight, I asked my husband to keep my sleeping bag from blowing away. He did that, but not my sleeping pad. When I got back after that 1st round, I got in my bag & asked, "where's my pad?". Probably in Leadville by then.... When I got up for the 2nd round around 2am, I packed up my bag in my camera pack & slept in the FJ after shooting. The FJ was rocking' & rollin' all night with the wind.

It was kind of funny, Jim: I sort of used a night sky filter for the MW shots ("sort of" because my lens has a built-in hood, so holding the square filter over doesn't really work, but it gave me the color that I tried to duplicate in the processing). Also stacked in Starry Landscape Stacker after eliminating all the shots with planes going through and when cars in the parking lot were driving in/out & lit up the base of the peaks with their headlights.

Very nice, I especially lihe the first one, because it shows an adult n really good shape. All my shots show them in molt. The others are also very nice and the MW especially good.

Coming back to this Monika, I am sure liking the Milky Way shot. For me, I appreciate the natural look of the Milky Way.

I know what you mean, Ben -- I usually see their hair/fur caught on bushes & they look all bedraggled.
