    After the Storm

Yesterday, it rained all day . . . more than 2" of rain. The sky started to clear just after sunset creating this eery, moody scene.

Cholla Cactus Garden - Joshua Tree

First time in Joshua Tree. First time shooting the stars with my Leica gear. Made a tone of mistakes even in this image but had a ton of fun. I had this area all to myself for several hours in total darkness.

    Home view but with Film

I was that way too. I was never much into film, especially developing (B&W). The ability to get scans, or scan myself with my 50mp digital camera makes the process more enjoyable. Developing B&W with a device called Lab Box makes it incredibly easy. https://www.lab-box.it/

    Home view but with Film

I actually looked at bringing up the shadows but in this case, the result was not good so I left well enough alone and kept the silhouette.

    Home view but with Film

Well, I'm back from my campaign hiatus. Recently I've been spending my time with different film and film cameras. It's been a fun journey. One of my favorite cameras at the moment is the Kodak Retina IIc. I picked this up in my local camera store for about $50 and then sent the camera to the...

    Samsung AF Slim Zoom

The camera does not have any exposure control . . . which can be nice. It does have a snap mode which pre-focuses to something like 6 feet allowing to take photos fast. I have another film camera that also seems to under expose. But once scanned and put through some post processing, I can...

    Kodak Retina IIc

Thanks Jim! Aurora is one of those newer films. Aurora 800 is very similar to Cinestill 800. Finding old cameras and shooting them can be a rabbit hole. Including a couple I already owned, I know have 5 film cameras plus a Polaroid SX-70!

    Kodak Retina IIc

My favorite camera pickup recently is the Kodak Retina IIc. It's has a fold out lens but when retracted, the camera will fit in a coat pocket. Best part of this camera is the lens . . . a Schneider-Kreuznach 50mm f/2.0 lens. Takes wonderful images. #1 #2 #3

    Samsung AF Slim Zoom

I posted the images below as a comment to my last film thread. @JimFox asked if I could start a new post since it's likely to be seen my more folks. Part of my film journey is the discovery of point and shoot cameras with decent optics. Some of the 'cult' cameras out there are way over priced...
