The Storms of Autumn

Great shot of one of the beautiful landscapes in Glacier. Happy to see that the smoke from the fires did not prevent you from getting a wonderful picture. Love the clouds.

One nice feature for shooting at Glacier these past few days has been the presence of the clouds as the early storms of autumn settle in over the park. This is a view across St. Mary Lake looking towards Going-To-The-Sun mountain from the Red Eagle Lake trail.

C&C always welcome.
I love these kinds of images, Alan.

Thanks for the comments.

Nice one Alan. Rick and I will expect a full report when we see you in the Tetons as we are going there next year.
Easy 'nuff :)

I didn't see any smoke until yesterday when a new storm front was moving in. It killed the grand vista shots once it did. I did see some down in the valleys below the divide near Hidden Lake and will post a shot later were you can see it lurking in the valleys below. Happily the smoke stayed down there on Friday.

I love these kinds of images, Alan.
Me too - the clouds are much more interesting than naked skies. The whole park got rain overnight last night and I was in off and on rain while driving to Kalispell today. Everything looked and smelled so much nicer after a good soaking.
